On May 19, 2025, we successfully held the workshop Post-disaster mapping with OpenStreetMap and JOSM, in Brazilian Portuguese, promoted by the company IVIDES DATA and the group of young Brazilian mappers, YouthMappers UFRJ, and given by Séverin Ménard, from Les Libres Géographes.
The archives of the workshop can be accessed in the description of the video on the IVIDES’ YouTube channel.
Recommendations and demonstration videos are also available in the guidelines section of the Mayotte’s projects on the HOTOSM-TM.
The methodology used by SeverinGeo is based on the BAR Methodology, from the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI), which has been adapted for mapping with OpenStreetMap and the Java OpenStreetMap Editor (JOSM), with the development of a map color style, customized for this project.
We thank those who were able to attend the Live!
Certificates of participation in the workshop will be awarded to those who fill in the attendance form (video description) AND/OR who help map Mayotte’s projects in the Tasking Manager, until MAY 31st, 2025.
Send your OSM username(s) to the e-mail address indicated in the workshop material (description of the video), with the subject line: workshop Mayotte, so that we can check your edits. Certificates are scheduled to be sent out in the first week of June, 2025.
